On January 10, 2011, M.C. Peesadej Ratchanee, Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation, presided over the MOU signing ceremony between PTT Chemical and Thailand Research Fund to initiate a research collaboration entitled “Bio-plastics for sustainable agriculture practice”. The objective of the MOU is to jointly develop bioplastics used in agriculture, for example, grow bags and soil cover. The use of bioplastics in agriculture results in increased crop yields. The goal of the agreement is also to encourage the use of bioplastics to improve product quality and bring Thai agricultural product to another level. The Royal Project Foundation‘s pilot project will be the first to start using bioplastics in its farming in Chiangmai.
